My husband and I didn’t think twice about moving back to Indiana from Phoenix, AZ in 2010 when the opportunity presented itself. After several years back in Indiana and 21 years in finance I ran an idea by my husband ‘what do you think about opening a wine bar/restaurant in Hamilton County?’. First reactions were not favorable but after much thought and analysis we decided we could make this work. Having 15+ years restaurant experience from fast food to fine dining I knew it wouldn’t be easy. In February 2017 after a lot of research and determination we opened Stompin Barley, a place that provides excellent wine and food in a casual contemporary environment.
Although my husband has his own career as VP of Logistics at Carter Express in Anderson, IN you will most likely find him on Fridays and Saturdays offering wine tastings and talking to anyone who will listen. He loves getting to know our customers!

Chef Ginnie Martin grew up in the food filled, fun loving city of New Orleans. After graduating from the University of Kentucky she spent 2 years working at Dudley's Restaurant in Lexington, KY. Ginnie decided to follow her passion, attending the French Culinary Institute in New York City. After graduating top in her class she secured her first chef job at 26 in Breckendridge, Co. In 2001, Ginnie moved back to New Orleans and opened her own restaurant, Sweet Olive Cafe, which specialized in serving fresh salads and gourmet sandwiches. Unfortunately her restaurant was lost in Huricane Katrina. Her husband's job moved her to Indiana. She started “Rural Barley” in 2009 which provided weekly meals to her customers. Ginnie joined Stompin Barley in November of 2018, bringing with her the passion to cook great healthy food. Ginnie resides in Zionsville with her husband and two sons.
